Well, the server is almost completely dead in the mornings now half the time. So yeah, it would seem people quit.

I waited 2 hours Friday evening (~7-9 arizona time) and didn't get in.
But yes, the morning crowd is thined back down to pre-summer levels finally. The afternoons/evenings are still just as slammed.

I've been getting in with my reserve slot a lot more often this past week. Still come across times where I have to wait forever, but it has gotten better. On weekdays I tend to play around 7pm EDT or after, but the sooner I try the better chance I have that my reserve slot works.

Question, are you just attempting to connect via console, or auto-join?

Whenever I actually feel like waiting for a few to get into valve1, I try to connect via console to see if the reserve slots are taken, then sit in auto-join if they're taken. Most i've had to wait is like 10 minutes maybe. Though, I usually connect around 9-12 cst.

Both. Console, wait for auto join for five minutes while clicking 'Refresh' every second or two, console again, auto join, console after 5-10, autojoin, etc.
