I don't see anything wrong with a 5 dollar a month donation for a reserved slot. I like bookies idea, maybe people that choose to donate more like lets say 10 bucks a month would get a special tag or announcement when they join the server. The tag/name could be something like "Donator". You donate 15 bucks or more, you can change this tag to whatever you want.

ehh last thing we need is turn sop into "donator premium" servers with tags, most ppl play on sop because its "vanilla lite".
I guess the only thing tho left is to figure out the new donation structure for reserved slots.

Unfortunately, Valve #2 has not been filling up like it used to. Would you just end up with a bunch of peeps with reserved slots fighting to get on
Valve #1 only?

Tiers would probably be the best idea, or having the per-month donation work just for Valve1 (and maybe goldrush, they complain a lot too). That lets the people who can't spend money month-to-month but want to play, well, play (college students for example). They might have to go to Valve2 to play, but they still can, and with a regular crowd (though valve2 still needs revamping).
But what are the actual numbers? I have to assume there are a lot of donators that never, or rarely, join a sourceop server anymore. Tracking the connections of current users versus the donator list should also give an accurate example of the real donating community that plays on a sourceop server, thus allowing for a more realistic monthly figure and slot strategy to be determined.

My original plan was gonna be somethin like $5/mo. (with $10+/mo. options (with no added benefits) for the ballers like bookie) with no more reserved slot limit.

a small announcement that shows up in chat on map change would probably go a long way as well
The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth becomes the greatest enemy of the State.

So assuming more than 16 people in the evening crowd donate $5 a month, the exact same issue we have now applies. It means more cash for SourceOP, which is yay, but doesn't solve the issue of not being able to get on during peak hours.

I think this would solve most of the issues, yes it may be full sometimes but not nearly as much as it is now a days.
