Infact Im pretty sure the CAL people put everything to lowest possible (beyond the video settings menu)

You raise a very valid point but i will use an analogy to explain why i do play the way i do.

You have the opportunity to have sex with the most beautyful woman in the wolrd, for me that is Selma Hyak, but in order to do so you must be in complete and total darkness. While it is still Selma Hyak, and you are geting down to bussiness a candle or two turns a great moment into one of divine proportions.

P.S. yes i know i am a perv if you would like to further discuss my pervery or for that matter your own please start a new thread  . "ROFL pee dribbling down my leg".

With low settings you can still clearly see everything except the background props such as tires and planks. Just with a lower-res.

I have no idea what your analogy has to do with anything considering you mentionned complete darkness.

I couldnt follow the analogy either... Maybe if she was... no... I cant think of how to save that analogy. Maybe if you needed glasses but took them off while you were undressing and then put them back on????

I agree avy, I need more proof, but the very fact that oxide says he can see cloaked spies across the entire CP A area because he turns his contrast and brightness up, makes me wonder, why would be say such a thing? Is it possible?

From what I have read, It is not possible (The spy model is just not rendered or valve uses a special shader for it). That was his excuse for hitting me in the head while I was fully cloaked.

Took screen shots of a cloaked spy, phtoshopped it (Like DF did), can't see a thing. The model just isn't there. Now to say you can do it on your MONITOR, to that EXTREME contrast and brightness, I don't see how you can play at all.

To me, that's the biggest bull I've ever heard. And that's enough evidence.

Back to the original point, as i said i could not see a specific cheat, but i was not there either. The only evidence offered was the video and that only showed it from the spy perspective and in my opinion was inconclusive. What has more validity to me is that there were several folks who supported the OP claim. All i can say is that i have bumped into cloaked spies and i was able to see, at point blank range, an opaque outline colored in the spy team color, in the shape of what ever class the spy chose for a disguise. I am not sure if that is normal or specific to graphic settings?

From the video it did appear to me to be a luck shot, but i will clearly state that i could not base a ban entirely on the video. But then again its not MY call, i am only allowed to play here as a matter of convience from DF as are we all and if with "witness" testimony and the video that was enough for DF then so be it. As i previously stated it appears for you Oxcide to be bad luck.
I do not support cheats, exploits and the people who use them. I merely offered my similar experiences, and explained my graphic settings to gain some insite from the folks i respect as players as to what they consider unfair advantages. I was merely playing devils advocate because i believe that even the Devil is entitled to fair and competent representation untill proved beyond a shadow of doubt to be guilty. Once found guilty a first class hanging with NEW rope is in order and it sounds like we have had our trial. Who has the rope?

Of course. Anytime you get shot or bump into someone you're going to shimmer a little, but you can clearly see in the video that he didn't bump into anyone. There was absolutely no one else around when he got shot.
