[OLD] suggestion/feedback thread
#81

Thinking of adding a rule for users who broker for others, I suspect a few users are doing so for banned users or scammers/carders. A simple rule, link the account (clickable id64 url) your brokering for or have some sort of arrangement with (exclusive supplier ect).

eidt: I dislike adding rules, but really, it has got out of hand recently and I have had to ban a few users who were doing so and refused to disclose their suppliers.

Thanks.

i suggest for trading bitcoin and tf2keys a rule like : "only traders with more than X page of rep can trade bitcoin for keys"
Cause bitcoin is anonymous and is so easy to buy keys with cloned credit card and profit it with bitcoin..

Sorry for my bad english

Any chance of implementing an automatic thread lock when it hasn't had a reply for X days (say 30). Been a lot of people necroing old threads recently, and once they make it to the front page they just get more and more replies from people who aren't checking the last bump or edit date on the first post.

Time is an illusion. Lunchtime doubly so.

You may have noticed that getting valve trade banned will also get you banned on sop, if you get your trade ban dealt with, only then can you request your forum ban to be lifted (after your full cooperation into the incident)

Also if we find users new or not; dealing with unusually high volume or value items with suspect history or are dealing with new accounts and or obvious alts, we do issue bans with the reason "under review" In those cases, the user has to contact a sop admin, if everything checks out about said trades or dealings, they may be unbanned.

BUT AS THE RULES ALREADY HAVE SAID FOR A LONG TIME, MAKING AN ALT IS PROHIBITED AND WILL IN MOST CASES LEAD TO BEING PERMANENTLY BANNED ON ALL CURRENT AND FUTURE ACCOUNTS. SO DO NOT MAKE AN ALTERNATE ACCOUNT IF YOU ARE BANNED NO MATTER THE REASON.

Suggestion by one of our staff was to implement the no private profile/inventory rule as some other sites do now. I do plan on adding the previously mentioned brokering rule so maybe able to stick this in with that as well, have not decided yet.

@Angry_Kittens: We occasionally do a sweep of old threads that get moved to the "inactive section" as you can see, users cannot reply to these threads.

@GhixxSellin: Not sure how that would help; most scammers on sop build up "legit" rep before scamming anyhow (very difficult to identify these users if they know what they are doing) all the other types of scammers get banned too fast.

Thanks.

First linked thread locked Feb 19th?
2nd linked thread closed Apr 2nd,
3rd linked thread was not locked,
4th linked thread closed Apr 7th,
5th linked thread closed Apr 6th and the user is banned,
6th linked thread closed Apr 4th,

Are you really digging up old threads w/o even checking if they are already closed? Stop being so fucking butthurt and accept that the answer is no, game trading is currently not allowed. That will be the end of it since you clearly are trying to justify something non existent and I have already answered your question multiple times.

Thanks.
