For anybody who has played Planetside, you know that if it is populated then it can be a huge blast. The RPG and implant elements are all balanced, the vehicles work smoothly. It is fun, but generally lacks because it is PVP only and not many people play it.

My Idea is a Zombie survival game, sort of a melding of the good points of WoW, L4D and PS. For instance, ammo and firarms will be scarce, so you will be able to form parties to raid (dungeon-like) warehouses or malls.

You can pull a bold move and make it set in the future so you can keep implants, futuristic weapons, but because of the apocalypse they will be in short supply (side effects?)

Sound fun to anybody else?

So it is getting to my house by UPS in 2-5 hours, in case I haven't told anybody I ordered a GTX 260 core216, and I also ordered a new motherboard just in case (current one doesn't have PCIe2.0 and doesn't overclock quads well, was going to see how my benchmarks stacked against other benchmarks with PCIe2.0 and similar builds, plus, cheap P45 for safety measures)

If you haven't read Episode by Eric Hodgins, you really should. It's an autobiographical account of an editor who suffered and dealt with a stroke--one of his side effects being aphasia. It is a well written book. When you try to figure out why it's so well written, you've already finished the next chapter. It is a very fast read and even the appendices are amazing.

I started Hitchhiker's Guide (the Trilogy in Five Parts), again, and am going through a few anthropology books about how museums present pretty putrid versions of history.

What about the rest of ya'll?

Is there a way to mass convert .tga's in Photoshop (or some other program) instead of having to manually convert each one?

I take tons of screenshots but then I'm too lazy to sit there and convert them all.

I played CSS for a few hours and everybody started preaching to me about how much more realistic it was because the weapons did lawlhueg damage compared to TF2.

So why haven't they made a game with realistic human anatomy mapped out inside of the people for realism? I mean, you could have them slowly bleed to death when hit in the stomach, instant kills for the lungs, heart and brain, no instant kills unless the bullet actually hits the brain, mapped out arteries for bleeding out (aim degradation for blood loss.)

You could easily make it more fun to play online with some realistically tuned RPG elements, like your weapons get more accurate as you use them (instead of the general realistic EVERY GUN SPRAYS EVERYWHERE NOTHING IS ACCURATE bull like DOD)

Up to now, the most realism I have seen was a separate hitbox for the arms, legs, torso and head and the weapons killing you in two-three shots.

Also, kevlar will be useful because even though you take damage through it, it will protect your vital organs...

I'm due to renew my cell phone contract and that means reduced pricing on spiffy new phones. So, my task to you is to help me figure out which of the following five phones I should get.

Keep in mind the following. I'm young so appearance and "cool factor" still... uh... factor. I'm an upper management type where I work so I need functionality. Also, pics, vids, messaging, music capability and nifty Apps are essential. My current phone is the LG Scoop.

Blackberry Pearl 8130
Samsung Delve
HTC Touch Pro
Moto Q 9c
Blackberry Curve 8330

I am on the Alltel network, it has the best service in my area (coverage and pricewise) but unfortuantly they have a lack if phone choices. I'm leaning towards the Delve.

BTW, no netbook suggestions please. I'm working on building my own from spare parts lying around.


  Why Banned?

I went to join a sourceop server this morning about 9:30 est and was banned the instant I joined the server. It says i was banned for spam, but as I just said I had just joined the server, so how could I have been spamming?

I would like, at the least, an explanation why I was banned, so that I can avoid repeating the mistake later.

Thank you.

P.S. Not being banned would be great, but if I truely did something wrong, I will accept the ban.

Its great you have an Arena server but could you PLEASE take off the crits, they really ruin Arena mode.

A lot of the players on the server came from the Qclan Arena server and everyone Ive played with agreed.
