Remove ctf_well?
#41

Biggs Wrote:but you can't deny that ctf_well is the least liked/played map among the tf2 community.

Then why is the server still 33/33 even on ctf_well? (90% of the time)

LOL you forgot the fact that the map has only been around for so long, and these stats have been since before it came out

Um you can't speek for the whole community. I have no problem with either version of well. My least favorite map happens to be 2fort

Sourceop Valve Maps is almost always full no matter what, but when it gets late and the number do start dropping, it's always ctf_well that empties the server out.

Also, Biggs' point was that ctf_well has half the total time played even though it came out a month before Badlands. That DOES say a lot.

I do not consider 26/33 as "empty".

This server is gifted, it will always have at least two digits for the player number unless it just came back from a crash.

Maybe because the valve maps server is the number one server in tf2, and has been for a long time.

And sourceop has a huge base of regulars that are just waiting for a slot to open up so they can play, no matter what the map is.

No, I didn't. On page 2 of this thread I already stated that ctf_well wasn't released until January 25th. Maybe I should have been more clear about what I meant, but badlands was released nearly a month later in February and still has twice the percentage of time played. To me, that means something.

By "the whole community" I meant Valve's stats, which are gathered from the entire tf2 community. Of course it's not everyone's least favorite map, but it is at the very bottom of the stats that are gathered from everyone that plays tf2... My least favorite happens to be granary, but ctf_well is right behind that.

And thank you Kaylee. At least someone got the point I was trying to get across.

you also gota count in the fact how manys servers have the map, because of noobs who complain that the map is a excuse fo there noobness, many server have taken the map off, once some half way smart person plays the map, maybe one of you idiots will follow

Well my server doesn't have the huge base of regulars that sourceop has. And ctf_well consistently empties my server within minutes, leaving only me and my clanmates in there. So I removed it from my rotation long ago... It would be stupid to leave it in the rotation to empty the server when no one is around to change the map.

And I wouldn't go around calling people idiots until you learn the difference between their and there. kthx.

Not to mention, DF obviously has his doubts about the map otherwise he wouldn't have made this thread to begin with.

Well I saw it hover at 16 in ctf_well for about 15 minutes straight a few days ago.

I think the issue is overblown since everyone obviously has different levels of appreciation for each map. I think what is really happening is well fatigue. It's basically in the rotation twice, which is a bit much given the amount of maps avaliable. I stick to my opinion that it should be in the rotation once, alternating between CTF and CP each time. Although, if it so happens that it's only in the rotation once without switching to CTF, no skin off my back.
