If they were individual bullets, they'd have to send an update for each one which would have 6x the overhead of just saying he shot once with 6 projectiles.

I don't think overhead is an issue in this day and age. They should at least give us an option.

IDK. You put 16 heavies on a server all firing their miniguns at once, and you can triple your in/out on each client. It could be pretty bad to then multiply that by 6. Since most fucking awful shitty server hosting companies are too cheap to buy more dependable access, it could cripple a lot of game servers (or at least make them more expensive).
