I think Drunken Fool's idea is an improvement, but I'd like stats to disappear altogether.

i'm say that its not the stats fault, but the people acting like idiots because of them, all removing the stats will do is get all the idiots pissed off and spaming these forums to bring the stats back, so leave the idiots alone and let them wallo in there idiocy

Wtf... this has nothing to do with idiots. People who have their gameplay affected by the ranking system are normal players... the stats have an influence on everyone who plays with stats... that's what I'm trying to say.
Even I find myself checking my ranking very often... does that make me an idiot? No, it's just too tempting to check my rank and it makes me curious about points and stuff. But that's BS because this isn't about points, this is about teamwork and being a teamplayer.. no one should care about points. And the best way to stop people from caring about points is to remove the points (the rankings).

gotta agree with ruzbeh here, when stats were first introduced on the first server I played(silently, tracked by website), people started checking the website, soon more and more, until it's the big thing anyone focuses on. the top 20 or so people on that server are assholes.. perhaps not on purpose, but they ignore their team's needs to further their own stat whoring.
the same thing happens here... anytime someone types 'top10', 5 other people type it. the constant in-your-face updates of stats on this server is even worse. I would like to see at the very least the in-game stats updates turned off by default, and advocate the removal of stats entirely.
this also contributes to the way people teamstack, which I know no-one cares about or is going to change, but it's part of that issue. if one of the top people is on a team, people start mashing the 3 or 4 key.

dude its not the stats fault, as long as there any form of competion in a game, you will have that, as long as there are achivments, you will have that, as long as there is a score you will have that :roll:
