I'm going to post this here because I get the feeling it might turn into a problem.

I have recently permanently banned |)(SPQR)(| Engineer (200,000 points on sourceop stats) for wallhacking on the Non-insta-respawn 2fort server. As usual I investigated him because several members of the opposite team complained of him cheating (I was on the same team, so I wasn't subject to it). Now, I'm not infallible, but from only watching him for a few minutes, I was beyond suspicious with how able he was to locate people. Normally, given that I play with people like Jubjub and Chronvict, I err on the side of not cheating, but some of the actions were simply too suspicious.

Unfortunately, I didn't think to catch a clip of him in action - this was all done on the wing - so it's basically my word against his. I hate to see someone who has spent so much time on SourceOP fall like this, but I am confident in what I saw and my judgment. I don't really know what else to say.

can i appeal this ban drunken? I have spend more than a fair share of time on tf2 and would like a demo evidence against me or multiple admin agreement before being banned outright.

as for locating people, i'm only aiming at common spots, on 2fort there are only about 3-5 spots to scan and i'm far from a great sniper.

the person on the other team who complained so because i was watching top right corner of the battlements for a good 5-10 secs before he walked out as soldier to the edge and tried to rocket jump. i head shot him before he jumped and he calls me a hacker. that shot shouldn't be difficult and if that is the basis for investigation, then there are lots of snipers on 2fort regular and insta-spawn who needs a banhammer before i do.

I was on the opposing team when this guy was on and I can vouch for Speedy's ban - this guy was get instant head shots as soon as you'd round a corner - head shots within ms of each other is very indicative of an Aim bot.

Just another cheating hacker claiming innocence.

i'm not being accused of aim botting, i'm being accused of wall hacking, 2 different things.

and i don't headshot right around a corner, i usually aim about 2-3 heads from a corner. I never headshot scouts coming out of battlement spawn cause it takes faster reflexes than i have and most of the time i miss. only people i headshot near corner are heavies, soldiers, occassional demo, snipers who are zoomed in.

I've got no problem with your sniping, Engineer. You're a very good sniper. However, the way you would completely ignore the battlements to put a bead on someone coming out the front door just as they came into view, the moment where you quickly flicked out to catch a scout just as he started running across the battlements with no warning or hesitation, and the time you attacked the soldier hiding in the middle area of the battlements without him making so much as a shotgun blast (while people were making a racket below you) were terribly suspicious. Bah; this is why I hate banning. I feel terrible for doing it, especially to a regular, but I've got to stand by what I witnessed.

actually, my sniping is not that great, 'yay is a much better sniper. i only completely ignore battlements when i am sure that it is clear and that other snipers are on their respawn timer. i don't "completely" ignore the battlements, it is that i am sure about its safety to ignore it. and i don't put it directly on people coming out of front door, i place my cross hair down there to wait, and most of my shots @ front door misses. if you had watched me longer, you'll see that most speedier classes coming out of front door i do not hit, ie medics, scouts, other snipers. I only hit the slower/non jumping players like heavies/soldiers. if i was wall hacking, shouldn't i be hitting all of them equally?

and about scouts running across battlements, i never walk out of hiding and hits a scout without moving my crosshair, i come out of hiding, try to aim, and almost always miss. i don't believe i've ever had a case where i've come out of battlements and hit a scout without so much as a mouse flick to adjust my crosshair.

about ignoring racket below me, the obvious answer would be that it is much easier to shoot at battlements than it is to shoot at your own front door. I only start shooting my own front door area when one of 2 things happen.

1. the enemy battlements is clear
or
2. its not safe to poke out my head (ie there are 3 or more snipers on enemy battlements or one sniper who is watching your side of the battlements)

given that the enemy battlements was not clear, it should be clear where i would be aiming at.

That's one of the things I make sure I keep track of first. However, during one of the most supicious moments, the RED snipers had not been recently sniped (probably due to having to take care of stuff in base/getting respawn killed) and could have been out on the battlements at any moment. However, you completely came out onto the battlements (as opposed to peeking) and disregarded the enemy battlements completely to look down at the front door to headshot a heavy near the waterfront. Had you just nailed a sniper prior and the heavy was just coming out the front door, I would have seen this as an acceptable risk-taking, but you seemed well aware of the heavy who was near the water's edge and didn't hesitate to lock on to him at all.

Yes, this is true, but in the case that I saw, you flicked to adjust to the head practically the exact same millisecond the scout rounded the corner. When you took the shot, he had only partially exposed himself while running full tilt. This, to me, meant that you either knew he was there or you need to lay off the crack, because once you negate lag you basically nailed that scout as soon as the tip of his had appeared.

Sorry, I should have clarified. I was referring to the point that you knew where the soldier was on your battlements without any prior interaction from him. There was fighting going on in your front door while you went to go resupply (while running backwards to face the battlements, strangely). When you returned, you immediately threw jarate at the center battlements wall and then rounded the corner to attack the soldier. That event was pretty much the kicker for me and what convinced me.

Again, I admit, it's extremely hard to tell when a good player wallhacks and all my evidence is completely circumstantial. But these small, extraordinary situations just seem like too large of a red flag to me. I'm sorry.
