I haven't been trading for a while, but I keep an eye on SOP, since I do intend to dip my toes back in the shark infested custard at some point soon.

What I've been seeing is that this artificial scarcity has done nothing but stifle the market. People seem to be a lot less willing to risk a venture with new hats, and as such have been resorting to much more... shall we say, morally grey means to get their hands on hats.

I personally (incorrectly) predicted that buds would peak at $30 and then slowly drop back down to $22 after a month or so at peak price price. Well, the peak was $35 and it lasted for a month, and the crash has begun. The question now is, will the value of buds be able to get low enough for the market to see some revival.

I think it all comes down to one main factor. The price of keys. Unless keys go back up to their $1.80 value then bud value will remain high-ish. The only way for the key prices to go back up is for people to start opening crates en masse. It all comes down to Valve releasing a half-decent large update.

I don't think that you need more than 2 buds at that price to get a decent unusual. I like hat's values to be in nice numbers, converting from buds to bills and dollars shouldn't be a chore. I liked that when I purchased my mongollian on June, The person said 2 buds or 4 bills unpainted or painted. I don't like paint changing value, it makes it unnecessarily complicated. Black bills look terrible to me yet are worth more than unpainted.

are you kidding me, most decent unusuals cost 4 buds or more in my opinion, for 2 u might get a decent flies or fetti, or a bad hat with mid-tier effect or at best a burning mongolian , everything is meant to be expensive, and like usual only the cool kids and lucky or rich people afford the best , seems legit indeed

dont worry ur not the one who bought over 50 buds and will be stuck with inexpensive music listening devices , formely known as buds, or macs in russia, im happy things are going down, thing will become maybe more reasonnably priced, or at the very least buds can be bough again at moderate pricing

Unusual hats won't go up in price. There's too many people who care about dupes, and it seems that more or less EVERYTHING is duped.

Duped hats are easily identifiable, so I see them as separate in price to non-duped unusuals (not that I would ever buy a duped hat). I see sharked hats as more of a threat to the Market.

Btw, I'm setting a buy value on buds of $16
