omg think about it if posts were never deleted wouldnt u eventually hav like 1000's and wudnt u run out of memory for this website or bandwidth or watever the f**k its called??

Some of the forums I regular these days have 20 posts per page and 2500 pages, which is roughly 50,000 posts, and thats one thread!
Believe me, servers can handle it.

yeah, all posts consist of are text. with an occasional pic. and most pics are hosted at a different web site.
and text is so small that i have about 2-3 years worth of text from a semi-popular IRC room (averages about 5-6 people active and 30 idle at any given moment) and its only about 5 megs...
