solution to team stacking! just ideas!
#1

Everyone knows you get more hlstats points winning than losing, even if the winning team has massively more points than the losing team. Even if you only get 3 points per kill and lose 25 points per death, you achieve game objectives and die less which result in higher hlstats score.

HLStats calculates the average skill per team (you can see it on the front page of stats.sourceop.com). Right now:
Red: 9294
Blu: 15534

Divide the lesser average by the greater average. Result will be between 0 and 1. In this case it is 59.8%. On average, team Red has 59.8% as much hlstats "skill" as team Blu.

This is our modifier. Blu team now will receive 59.8% HLstats points.

Tada, all the sudden all the good players won't join the same team, AND high skill players will have motivation to switch to losing team to turn the tides.

You wouldn't get penalized unless all the good players are on the same team.

There should be a threshold for when you'd start losing points, like if team A is below 75% skill level of team B.

Perhaps the low-skill team could also get a small amount of bonus points.

If you start getting an 85% point reduction, someone's gonna switch teams.

there are only 2 types of players, players who play to win, and players who don't play at all, i vote for auto ban on the second

I don't understand you.

Are you saying if you're playing to win, you sit in spectator til you can join the team that is most likely to win, and that's ok?

Because that's what people do.

You didn't really give any reasons. The goal would be to have balanced teams, and if teams were balanced, nobody would be penalized. What could be wrong with that?

fine, reasons:
good players aren't that good, they just try harder, my mood can take me from the top of the score board to the the bottom in an instant
the only person this doesn't hold true with is extacy, he is an alien sniping robot made to kill all man-kind
