start - control panel - Network Connections - Local Area Connection -
Properties - Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
Use the following IP address:
IP Address: 192.168.1.100
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Defualt Gateway: 192.168.1.1
Use the following DNS server addresses:
Preferred DNS server: 192.168.1.1
OK
Type 192.168.1.1 in the internet explorer
Password is admin
Application & Gaming
Open ports from 27015 to 28025(or higher for better performance)
check both TCP & UCP
Save settings and you will lose internet connection briefly
Now you are done.
To find your internal IP, go to http://www.whatismyip.com/
You can only connect to your server with your internal server IP.
When other players search for your servers through steam,
it will show up with internal IP address so don't worry.
To be honest with you, I can't even find my servers with steam search
engine. They just don't show up at all, but everyday, I get hundreds of
new players visiting my servers.
