Lately ive been trying to reproject my server using adminop3, but ive been having problems getting people to connect.
the problem is with the router but i have port forwarding set up perfectly, so that isnt the problem.
under further diagnostics of my server i noticed that it was showing my internal ip (192.168.1.1) as the server's IP. Other people have suggested DMZ (demilliterization) but that didnt help either.
Has anybody else had this problem, and if so, how do i fix it?

start - control panel - Network Connections - Local Area Connection -
Properties - Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
Use the following IP address:
IP Address: 192.168.1.100
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Defualt Gateway: 192.168.1.1
Use the following DNS server addresses:
Preferred DNS server: 192.168.1.1
OK
Type 192.168.1.1 in the internet explorer
Password is admin
Application & Gaming
Open ports from 27015 to 28025(or higher for better performance)
check both TCP & UCP
Save settings and you will lose internet connection briefly
Now you are done.
To find your internal IP, go to http://www.whatismyip.com/
You can only connect to your server with your internal server IP.
When other players search for your servers through steam,
it will show up with internal IP address so don't worry.
To be honest with you, I can't even find my servers with steam search
engine. They just don't show up at all, but everyday, I get hundreds of
new players visiting my servers.

Also HL doesn't use any ports above 27015 unless the server admin designates them.
HL uses 27005-27015.

are you sure HL1 only uses 27005~27015?
all you gotta do is add +ip and define port in command line for
scrds.exe. I've never tested it so I can't say for sure whether
it works or not :gaga2:
p.s. his internal IP address is 192.168.x.x and that probably means that
he's using linksys router

192.168.x.x is typically the default setting on most network equipment, not just linksys. There aren't many other options on a LAN. You can only have like 10.x.x.x and a few of the 172's as your only other options, so most company's use 192.168.x.x as the default.

Okay, nothing would work, i tried litterally evertying i saw on the internet, i even followed the port-forwarding link's instructions like 10 times for my router's model and 3 other releatively simmilar models, each time i tried something i would reset the router before and restart my computer afterwards.
SO i found a solution, i bought a switch, screw routers, they are a pain in the ass.
