Hey Drunken , i have a request for you 2fort instant respawn.
Please put a ping limiter on this server. This is un fair when you get the 200 and 300+ pingers on here sniping.
So if there even a half ass sniper they start owning alot of ppl.
With the limiter i don't see it effecting players due to having to wait in line to join anyway.
If you wonder what i ping in there, it's around 18 to 25

Ps, can you extent the idle time about 2 more min's to allow some time for trading.

That link you posted is about someone talking about lagging, and the server lagging.
I'm talking about the advantage a player has over another when there ping is higher.
Your right about the lag not effecting everyone, BUT on that same note. the one person with a high ping can look like he skipping across the map.
This cant be denied when.
At times it can look like your playing whack-a-mole with a sniper rifle.

higher latency normally only helps a sniper when their opponent is standing still and they're creepin around a corner. otherwise I think it makes them shit. I am however in support of a ping limit, but something like 300+ as to not penalize our AUS friends. I saw a 500-600 sniper that was fairly annoying since I'd be halfway to the spawn and get shot (not even kidding, it was retarded).

I agree lag compensation is a bitch. Ping limit would be nice but would exclude a lot of foreigners who play on a regular basis. My next guess would be just to votekick and see if that works (which mostly doesn't) and if it goes beyond the 300+ ping mark for an extended period then escalate it to someone with mod priviledges only after asking them to kindly stop raping you with high ping (which they will probably just laugh at you and tell you to f off or do their 'u mad' promo).

why not just votekick them for lagging? last i heard it only takes two other people to second it

bad laggers are a pet peeve of mine, but I don't want to call votes cause other players will think I'm raging like a little bitch over someone that's not even doing very well. noobs think they're so special if they get so much as a peep out of me... like my acknowledgement somehow validates them as a person. even if you get 2 other people to also votekick, it usually fails cause half the server didn't vote yes or no. players should find a server closer to them... learn to sort the servers by ping.

Lag compensation kind of sucks, because you can get shot around corners (from your perspective). But, realize the same guy that shot you after you had rounded that corner may have well picked you off sooner with better ping.
I believe higher ping is a strong disadvantage.
