[Tycoon]

I'd like to find out how I can prevent my TF2 from automatically creating new files in /tf/download/user_custom while I play.
I've tried deleting it, reinstalling, and changing numerous settings... it's not helping.

This is what it looks like:

While my ping is usually 30-50 on every server, the game starts creating these files, and it is firmly between 600-800 then.
Deleting the files just lets it recreate them.

You should know:

-- I use a modified Chris' fps config
-- My FPS is perfectly fine at all times. It's only my ping
-- This problem only affects TF2, and it affects all servers
-- No one else is using my internet
-- I set my priority for hl2.exe to high always.

Launch options set for TF2:
-dxlevel 81 -noforcemaccel -noforcemspd -full -w 1366 -h 768 -console -novid -useforcedmparms -dev

Thats exactly what happens to me, every server i join (I go through the server list, and pick the lowest latency) ener with 20 something ping. Without fail, I end up getting shot up too 100-200 ping, but the games lags as if it around 300-400, in 2 mins or less

try lowering your graphics
google chris's FPS config, it seems to help a lot of people

idk if you tried my suggestion above or not, but if that didn't work for you you could try reinstalling tf2. also make sure no one else is using your internet. i know i had trouble because my sister (i hate her!) was downloading true blood and it was spiking me when i was playing tf2

I get the exact same problem with the addition of the game freezing for 5-10 seconds every couple of minutes. I play via wifi with an average of %75 signal strength. I have tried everything I can think of and my guess is the wifi is the only variable that would be causing the issues.
