Ya they call the computer "The Director". They set the AI up so that the horde will wait until an opportune time to jump out and do damage to you. Apparently the zombies are going to be easy to kill.
The point's not to outlast them or even run from them but to make it safely as a team to the rescue point.
One other thing I thought was cool was that you basically get 3-4 chances before you officially "die" and you can "respawn" when your team finds another survivor hiding out from the zombies. The game sounds really, really interesting.

My wife is a big horror fan and she is into zombie movies, with a passion. There is during the month of october some sort horror flick playing. I think zombie movies are ok but i get to hear all the gory action as my wife squeeks and squeals while some denizen of the un dead gets to naturally select some genetic floater from the gene pool. My problem with horror is i am usually rooting for the monster, saying things like,
Look in the closet, how can you not see her!!
Quick she is under the bed!!
Hurry up she fell down again!!
Nice knife!
Hey nice saw, i have one of those.....Home Depot?
So if i decide to try L4D i will probably not have much fun if i am forced to play food.

Only during October, Then for November we can ratchet up the fear and deal with a more dangerous type of monster politicians.

It's nice that Steam is offering 10% off L4D, but being in $US, it makes the conversion into $Canadian(CDN) quite pricey, compared to 3 months ago. Let's see, at today's exchange rate, ~$45(US) is ~$55(CDN). Now, L4D to be sold in Canada will probably retail at $50CDN(rounding off). Now we add in the taxes(13%!) and we end up at about(in Ontario) $56......
$55 vs $56.....
Well I hope the Canadian dollar will take off in mid-November and just hang in there until I land the game.

Many governments have considered taxing monthly game subscriptions and other things associated with popular online games.
