the "negative" things i said weren't negative. they were cold hard facts about how your self policing has created an environment that makes the server significantly less fun for anyone not in your super-happy fun clique. the other "negative" thing i said is that "DJing" is still fucking mic spam and mic spammign is against the rules.
no, there's no difference between yelling in the mic and someone playing music. especially the volume, since that's capped in your options already, so they're both the same volume. and yeah, one IS significantly more annoying: the kid with aspergers playing his favorite dubstep or corny 90's cartoon songs over a fucking microphone.
Contrary to popular belief, SourceOP DOES have a set of rules.
here's a basic run down for you:
dont cheat
dont mic spam
don't abuse the votekick system
dont waste people's time
you'll notice "being a dickhead" isn't on there, and "obey the arbitrary rules the prophunt regulars make up regarding what class you can play and when" is also conspicuously absent

Optimus is very mean to the players, and towards me. We most of the times kick him, because
1.- disrespectful to other players (including Saucey Nips, Ruby, etc), also to myself.

This is the 2 major reasons. Also, I put music on the server ( like a DJ, and), but he way my ingame name is Yosshed, people enjoy my music, so do I enjoy that they like it. But Optimus starts acting like a bitch, he can simple mute me, but instead of that, he start to votekicking me ( even though no one wants to kick me, since they know me, and I know them). Also he is very mean towards me for no reasons.

edit: as for the rest of the thread: the prophunt server may do a fine job of kicking the problem players, but they also do a fine job of kicking players who aren't problems and not kicking players who do stupid things like spam music over the mic. You claim that you kick people for yelling in the mic and at the same time you say that it's OK for some guy to dj on the server because if you don't like it you can just mute it.

You're right, your server doesn't need an admin. But dont be surprised when someone comes here complaining that you guys are trying to kick him because he talked some shit or because he tried to votekick one of your friends, or because he made a rude joke infront of your e-girlfriend on the server. When you start kicking people just because you don't like them, you're abusing the votekick system and you can bet your ass that there will be consequences. I don't care how many hours you have on the server, how many connects you have, how many friends you get to register accounts on here, or if everyone else does it; you're going to get permabanned for breaking the server rules and no amount of bitching and moaning will undo that.
things for you guys to remember from now on:
1) use contact admin
2) do not micspam, ever
3) don't kick players just because you don't like them
4) you will get a large intestinal block from all the shit i will push in when i fuck you in the ass if i have to go in there. i literally hate that server.
You don't have to be rude. I can understand with just a simple "Micspam is agains the rules". And we don't votekick someone just because we don't like him/her, we kick someone if that person starts to disrespect other players, in this case Optimus.

The thing is, honestly the entire server is filled with nice people, but then like Deja Said, we get the every so often micspammer, but Optimus Prime, all he does is troll us by posting these things, hes the only person that has a problem with anyone on Prop Hunt. I believe that he is the only person that has posted about it. One was about me evidently starting a votekick on him "Because he was playing heavy". No, he is just a troll on the server.

The Prophunt server can govern itself with little to no interference from the major admins of the other SourceOP servers. In the past, we have experienced other admins (I don't recall their names at the moment) from the main servers to have oppressed their will on the PH server to a bad outcome -- I believe one of them resigned over it.
Regardless, whenever I seek out help, whether it be in a department store, grocery store, jewelry store, online forum, etc... I'd expect to come across a certain professionalism of some degree.
Kapex, you're wrong for being an ass to WombRaider. Wombraider, you're wrong for being, for lack of a better term and myself not being awake at 4:55 AM prior to work, a prick. Let's make nice, apologize to each other, and move past it. I'm not meaning to quote Rodney King, but, can't we all just get along?
If the powers that be want an admin on the server, just look within the PH community to one who can handle the responsibility without abusing the power. Wanx could handle it, I could handle it, and many others could as well. It's the occasional bad apple that comes in and starts a garbage thread like this that throws good/great people into the fire because they are not happy with a decision the general populace of PH have come about.
Anyhow, this thread should be locked to prevent any more flaming going on between the community and admins. It looks bad on both sides of the coin and needs to be finished. That is my $0.02.

anyway: im all for prophunt governing itself. the problem is that if that's going to happent hey need to both follow and enforce all the rules. that means no one gets an exception (i.e. the server DJ or the guy with a million connects)
and the drama that started with the old admin went deeper than prophunt issues. he didn't "resign," so much as he quit tf2 in a furious inferno of rage, giving all his hats and items and medals away in a server and blaming it all on me

Wombraider, you're always entertaining to make a situation lighter than it should be. For that, I <3 you. As for the admin who left, I didn't know his issues were that to belong to a Dr. Phil episode.
As an idea and possible solution to all of this, why don't we sit down in a custom Steam group/irc/? with SourceOP admins and PH Regulars and come up with a set of Prophunt only defined rules? I have an example of another community who did something similar and it worked wonders:
I was a Senior eGO admin for around two years. Although the organization is frowned upon by many people of the gaming community from TF2 to DOD:S to CS:S, I actually enjoyed my tenure very much. In CS:S, eGO runs one of the most popular Jail servers. eGO servers have a set list of rules to follow regardless of what game you are playing, however, the Jail server had special rules created for it. I won't go into depth on all of the rules made, however, the new rules made it special to play on the server due to the simple fact that those who wanted to play by the rules stayed, and those that didn't just left.
In the case of PropHunt, perhaps the "no nudity, don't be an ass, etc etc" are not enough? If the engine for PH allows certain weapons to be enabled/disabled, why not turn off the heavy main weapon and only allow them to use fists, shotgun, or sandvich? This would bring more humor into the situation first and foremost, with little threat possible as well due to the heavy's slow movement. The SourceOP mod for PH is different to other PH mods as the shotgun allows 6 shots on this server, whereas other servers it's 2 -- and a much lower damage base.
Another topic we could talk about would be map rotation/maps to be deleted/possible maps to add into the rotation. There are a few certain maps that bring people into the server, other maps that kill the server population, and there are definitely other maps out there that are popular in other communities.
To fix music mic spam, how about enabling a radio function on the server? Branching out from the normal radio servers and creating something more popular these days (dubstep, MLP, whatever else is current on forums/etc) could benefit.
A voteban function (however long the time is determined would be up to the SourceOP admins) requiring 80%+ of server vote could also work. A 3 hour limit would be my sufficient as someone is in to make a disturbance would not wait 3 hours to come back in to cause more ruckus..
At this moment, I don't know if replay is turned on or off, however, if we could have that turned on it would be awesome. I've had many lulzy moments I wish I had recorded, however, was unable to at the time.
At a glance, I also want to say thank you to DF for keeping the server as PH for such a long time. It's been a staple in my TF2 career for the past year and a half or so. As a player from Beta, I keep finding new ways to entertain myself through this server. I also want to say thank you for giving us the first person view which wasn't always there in the past. Thanks for the new maps you gave us approximately a year ago... However, damn you to hell for not taking Cyberpunk off the rotation! :'(
