It can now take like 30 seconds for the GOUI to show up from the main menu. Steam and all associated products just get slower and slower and more bloated every patch.

Its called Apple Software. Enjoy the future.
Actually CMD+Tabbing on the mac is better than Shift+Tab or Alt+Tab Windows side.
If it's the future, I welcome it.

If mac is the future then PC gaming really is dieing.

I would honestly rather play it on the 360, so at least I could get full FPS.

another performance boost: (for thoes using 1 computer) disable global steam cloud.. it could be settings loading from the "cloud" taking forever.
steam tab>settings>downloads/cloud> then uncheck steam cloud box.

Thanks.

I'm fairly happy with my 60fps at 2560x1440 on the mac. But you can have your XBox and have fun with that.

I will now proceed to laugh at you for spending 2500$ on a computer that will barely match vsync on a game made in 2007.

To be fair, vsync is locked at 30fps on the mac ports of the source games.

Hey thanks for posting this, it lead me to a resolution.

I had to disable the steam cloud AND html in the MOTD (just disabling one didn't work, it was a combination) and now my shift tab works again.
I'm still very curious though why it only did not work on this one server. Guess some things can never be explained lol.

Yeah I've long since been running with HTML motd screens disabled. Some servers have particularly shitty motd screens.

IMO, it's almost mandatory to run with steam cloud sync disabled. Every time steam updates, it keeps getting reset to on. Whenever I forget to turn it back off, I get client timeouts every 30-60 seconds. Turn it off, everything runs fine.

Nope, all steam cloud does is sync you game settings between multiple machines if I recall correctly.

The really funny part is that by running with sync on, you often lose your connection to Steam while in the game and thus lose your loadout.
