Stop giving a damn about dupes!

kramurx Wrote:You don't buy a rolex to know the time. You buy it as an investment, status symbol and because of the craftsmanship. A fake rolex has a lot worse quality and someone who is knowledgeable of watches will instansly recognize it as a fake. A dupe is a 1:1 copy. A perfect clone sharing the same history. It's a digital item. Both are given to you by valve. It's more as if your watch got stolen and rolex makes the exact same copy of it with the same ID. Without a 3rd party program like TF2items you would never know that an item is duped. Yes the level is the same but not all hats with the same level are dupes. Some people in the tf2 community just like to obssess over things. I guess they have ocd.

I can understand that collectors want to own "clean" items but again, get hijacked once and bye bye to the cleanless of your hats.
Exactly my point. You dont buy a clean burning tossle to just have flames, you buy it because of the genuinity and the high cost so it can be shown off

I thought some russians found an exploit, and that is why there are so many dupes of certan levels (e.g; Level 1)

I give a damn about dupes because buyers give a hell lot of more damn about dupes than I do when I sell it.
Some people seemed to use the duping history to cut the price down to the bottom of hell

Otherwise, I would've been fine with it.
And buying dupes does not encourage hijacking unless that duped hat is directly from hijacker or an alt of hijacker

The very post that would annoy people hating discrimination against dupes when Steam cleared out Max Heads' item history to help out those suffering from 'Your hat's duped, cut down the price' kind of argument.

I wonder if he/she would've posted this if this max was a duped one.

This is exactly the crap that irritates me about dupes.

I get a lot of irritating reports on OP from russians who think selling a duped hat is a crime.

They think it's ok to spam posts & reports on people's threads saying shit like

'HET IS DUPPPED BEN HIM!1!!!!'

'DUPED HET HE IS FRAUD ADMIN BEN HIM PLS'

I was just told that when an Unusual is a dupe it cuts its value in half. . . . kids these days.
