Setting up a SourceOp server!
#1

Hi all,

This goes out to anyone that has set up a SourceOp server, I will be shortly setting up the server. It's a linux server with a 24 man slot.

Is there anything I should know before I start?

I have downloaded the SourceOP for linux and SourceOp for admin setup as well as admins helper.

Any help would be great! Thanks.

What game will the server be running?

You should definitely read the wiki if you haven't already:
http://www.sourceop.com/wiki/Main_Page

Especially this page:

Also, if you're running a TF2 server, you should know that the current released version of SourceOP does not work with TF2. The TF2 version is coming "soon."

It's a TF2 server. I have played on your TF2 server, is it beta?

Well spank me Red!! Me and the other -[RcR]- boys were looking forward to getting our server set up to use SoureOp!! Were not to happy with the BM that the server uses at the moment! Let me know when its ready! I will have to break the news to the other boys, They are going to be bummed!

Yea, Sourcemod is what I'm using until sourceop is released.

I tried BM and mani and I prefer SM over them both. But that's partly because I was already accustomed to amxx, so it made for an easy switch.
