Server change
#21

And I don't know Game well enough to comment, but I'm curious about what those numbers signify. WHAT DOES 316 MEAN.

In my experience, no admin ever thinks there should be another admin, especially the ones that enjoy their job.

As for the servers, a few of the 2Fort fast respawn regulars brought up changing that server to a fastrespawn rotation instead. Sounded like a good idea to me.

I think every new admin that has been added was recommended by me so um ya

Changing insta 2fort? You're joking right?

Well, no, not joking. Just passing on what I've heard some regulars talking about. But don't take my word for it. I can't stand fast respawn.

the problem with assigning new admins is that it can literally ruin a server if you give it to the wrong guy and he does stupid shit

Like spawning horseman, monoculus, power playing friends, changing people's colors, and spamming overtime? Nemu's gets pretty crazy sometimes Tongue

But seriously, what I meant earlier is that regulars like an admin to always be present, and when they're not it's perceived as not enough admins, especially when they may have to wait a little longer than usual for a ban or w/e. Whereas an admin would see that as a slight delay and not that big of a deal in the big scheme of things. But this shouldn't be that big of a deal on sop, since even in the absence of admins votekick can be used, albeit a temporary solution.

You poor lost soul.

It took me 3 tries to get a mic spammer vote kicked today. I like to believe in the regulars on the server, but 1. day crowd is stupid and doesn't have as many regulars on, 2. a large number of players (regulars included) ignore chat, 3. It only works in situations like mic spam or griefing, and even then not consistently. AFK kicks? Hardly ever. Stacking kicks (night crowd excluded for this, because it annoys all of them to no end)? Never, since everyone thinks it's StackOP. Griefing that isn't obnoxious to everyone (engies bulding buildings infront of other engies guns, engie building at original spawn on a 5 cap map when the team is trying to cap the last cap, etc)? Ha.

tl;dr - votekicking is a great system when used right, but it fails. Often. In part because the player mix being not 100% regular, in part because no one knows the rules (because they're not actually written down anywhere, nor discussed and change admin-to-admin) and in part because it's a easy to miss in chat.

What's sad is 90% of the regulars on valve 1 and goldrush have asked me if I was an admin at one point or another.
