So I have a computer sitting at work that I am really tempted to buy, but I am still torn on weather or not it is a good buy.
The computer is

EXCEPT, it only has one gig of ram and no PSU (I found the PSU and it will cost about 60$)
My boss says that he will give me the whole lot (without the psu) for 250$
So for 310$ I will have that computer minus 3 gigs of ram.
I figure that I will end up re-upgrading it to 4 gigs of ram and adding a Geforce 9800GT (the best slim-line GPU available)
The entire project will set me back about 550$ and will give me:
Amd Athlon X2 4400+
4gb ram
320gig hard drive
Geforce 9800 GT
Super cool mini-itx build

you can build or find a better deal elsewhere. For example

was the sale on Woot.com the other day for 300$ and that got you windows 7 also.
Def not a good buy

The computer itself is only going to be 310$ (that is if I don't talk my boss down any, I am pretty sure I can talk it down to 270$)
100$ of that is going to be for the video card, another 80$ for the ram.

I would definitely pass. As far as video cards come the 9800 is starting to get out of date. no direct x 11 support right now. Also what is the computers OS? if its anything but 7 id definitely pass.(assuming your using this for games)

Much better deal, comes with everything you need but the OS and a monitor. Even mouse and keyboard included. I suggest that and get another 2GB of ram. 7 is easily downloadable unless you just want a legit copy then get this.

Everything is new, just gotta put it together yourself, but if I was you, I would just save up for something even better. Ever since Metro has come out, DX11 is the new standard.

I would also pass. You can find a better deal on a better computer, or just build one for cheaper.

I have been tinkering around and I can't manage to build one with the same specs for cheaper than I am paying for the thing.
All of the parts to build a similar machine come to about 240$, and I talked it down to 200$

yeah dude, build your own. I've build mine 3 years ago and still running, even Bad Company 2.
you can get inexpensive parts from (thats where i got them from)

it's good to make sure that you get motherboard bundle with processor (they test it out for you free of charge). it's pain in the butt to install processor. The rest, even a second grader can do.
PS: I assume that it was the sarcasm, so I voted "Yes".
