Question regarding medics
#1

Hello, I have been playing at the valve map server for quite some time now lately and love it a real nice server with good people, havent been playing anywhere else. /wave kaylee paw

I'd like to ask how medics do with kicking for reserve slots, medic is my fav class and havent played it much lately due to bein kicked once for playing medic a whole map. I noticed, this was a few weeks ago i think?, that medics were getting kicked alot for reserves, due to the whole lower kill thing. How does medic work on this and is anything changed? Should I just snipe a little then change to heal nonstop? thanks for reading~

The exact way the system works is as follows:

The reserved slot system will look at each player and give that player a certain number of points. In the end, the player with the most points is kicked. Players currently using a reserved slot are excluded.

A player's points is calculated by the number of deaths divided by the number of frags (minimum of 1 to prevent divide by zero). This value is then multiplied by 5. For example, if a player has 8 deaths and 2 kills, the player will have 20 points for the reserved slot kicker.

If the player is a medic, the player's point total is divided by 3. Thus, the example player would have 6.67 points if he or she was a medic. This means that a medic is allowed to do about 3 times worse in the kpd sense.

I was going to add other factors such as AFK time to the calculation of a player's point total, but haven't yet.
