QUICKSELLS ONLY NOT PAYING YOUR B/O OR CLOSE TO IT
#11

On the other end of the trading spectrum, it can be VERY annoying to deal with people who say they want a certain unusual but want to pay below current offers. Many of the resellers/promo owners are very irritated and annoying people to deal with. Alot of them you know for sure they will do nothing but resell the unusual for sure.

10 minutes later after your sale you see your unusual back on the market and they're asking for more. AND GOD FORBID you don't offer buyout. They will act as though you just called they're mother a four letter word. Ofcourse, this is cuz the're worried they wont get the buds back and many times spend more time than its worth to achieve profit.

Many of these promo owners also can be freakin maddening cuz they'll come in and try to convince you that they're giving you a once in a lifetime offer even though another c/o is actually worth more if you took the unusual and sweets.

At the end of all this, you have everyone hating everyone. Sellers calling everyone freaking lowball scammers and the buyers raging at highballling p.o.s.

TL;DR version: Theres 2 sides to the story and your loyalties will vary based on whether your on the red team or the blue one. Unless you're autobalanced.

I have a Beams Dixie up for trade for 3 buds and in the notes I stated clearly 3 buds only - nothing else please.

I had a dude offer me a Max head and a bunch of keys and went on to add me, when I accepted I politely told him thanks but i'm only after 3 buds and he went on a rage attack saying I have promos so i'm only looking for quick sells.

The next day I get offered 2 buds on it and an addy, when I said 3 buds only I got another rage attack saying this is 2 "pure" buds your b.o is 3 buds.

Kids these days.

We're a dying breed sadly.

However more and more collectors are coming up out of the woodwork, which is nice to see.

This is a growing market. People don't realise, but more and more they are willing to buy virtual items. (I liked it when it was just me.)

Meanwhile Zynga is making a fortune selling coins or whatever, but as a group online traders have built a strong economy already.

At some point the game will be ruined, and the hats will be worthless, but so long as the Steam service holds, these hats will be traded for cash.

Most of my hats have been purchased at buyout plus five. I tend to offer 85% on hats, but the good ones will move for more than buyout. When I go to sell these hats (and I have a few I'd like to cash out because sellers aren't upgrading like they should) I'm going to list the buyout as firm. Somebody will want it.

The resellers need a little enforcement on the code of ethics. Obviously, we've been through sharking, and though it will continue, at least they will have to skulk in anonymity rather than throw powerful reputations around. Clearly, even if they act like dicks, people will still do business with them.

I pay the resellers because I don't want to deal with the rabble. I shouldn't have to read about how bad it is to shift through the silt. You're making a profit, I don't come here and complain about my job.

I maximise my game playing experience with a little bit of discretionatory income.

I've got the cash promos, so I tell you what I'm paying. If you don't like it that's cool, you won't be getting my promos or cash. I didn't make money buying hats at buyout prices Smile

At the same time, I know that feel and hate it when people automatically assume a buyout is overpriced. I price my hats to SELL NOW when I actually want to sell them, otherwise I'm just taking offers because I lurve them ;D

The only difficulty I have is that 80% of the market now is full of people who will only "buy quicksales"/hurl abuse at you for "overvaluing" when in fact its the true value, and will never pay the true value for a hat giving it credit for what its worth. It kind of sickens me, If I want a hat I have no issues overpaying. Seems like legit traders are a dying breed.
Making a profit is easily achievable without killing the true market value of an item. We have all managed a profit here or there, some more than others granted, but I still hold firm to the ideal that this "quicksales only" - on an extremely large scale - is killing things right now.

I'd like to appeal to websites such as SourceOP, TF2TP and TF2Outpost to block / remove all trades containing the phrase "Quicksell(s) only".

That ain't goona happen the word QuickSell itself a big pain for most of the sellers but great for buyers. Some people can't sell their unusuals Finally they dropped the price and says QuickSelling Now this Affected another items also and finally when a person has alot of stuff like buds and bills they started quickselling Because Most of people don't buy stuff @ B/o price there is no such sense to buy and sell @ same price.
