Pyros find my scattergun displeasing. Also a good scout will love you for pulling out your shotgun because that means he can come back to finish the job. Assuming you are close enough to do real damage with it.

Except for the fact that is does less damage and has a shorter range.
Pyros have more health in the first place, so it is pretty much an even match when you consider that they are both ambush classes.

The only reason I had to fear the pyro was his flamethrower, along with this most pyros are not good enough with their shotty to get a direct hit on a scout that is dancing around him. And at the same time most scouts aren't good enough with their scattergun to kill the pyro in the 2 shots.(let alone wait for the pyro to pull out his secondary so they can rush him down.) So pyro vs scout will end in favor of the more experienced. But in equal skill situations a scout has a huge advantage. This was already the case in experienced 6v6 matches, but now the pyro has had his odds put down even further.

Having a Scout partner with the Pyro can help keep the Pyro alive, but be aware that in doing so, the Scout is unable to put his excellent flanking talents to use elsewhere.

I would be complaining about how they are "ruining" the pyro, but I remember how terrible the pyro was when TF2 first came out so everything seems better by comparison.

They should take away his flamethrower and give him the TFC flamethrower.

That pyro still exists, it's the backburner.

I'm talking about when pyro did no damage unless the FT was touching the person.
