There's also a small rule to consider with pet birds though.

The bigger they are, the slower their overall movement and reaction time is. This means they will feel less "natural-instinct-ish", if you can see what I mean. Big birds have alot of personality due to this, and they can easily become true friends.

Even better. Good work!

If I had a giant bird I would feed it to my giant cat.

So how do you get the bigger birds to trust you and stop biting?

We have family members that have a large bird (Type unknown) that tries to bite the hell out of me whenever I get close to it.

I've stopped trying, but is there a good way you can get its trust?

I also have a cockateil. I call it Satan, though it's real name is Dolly (it's female). It also pretty much comes and goes as it please. I leave the cage open, it flys around and walks on the floor etc...It's bites she shit out of me if I get close. Before the parakeet that lived with it died, it used to fly at me if I would get to close to the cage. I have 2 Chihuahuas, and a Shelty. Every pet I have was free except the bird.

I will post pictures if and when I feel like it...

I had a cockateil named Fiji. It never came out of its cage, even if I left the door open. And when I would try to bond with it it would constantly bite me. It didn't hurt much though, don't know how hard they can actually bite. It loved jewelry though, it actually pulled a diamond out of an earring once, I always wanted to train it to be a jewel thief. ;D

Oh

One time he bit me to the point where I swore, but it can't really make you "bleed".
