I chose many of the fire/ice/lightning ones. Some spells are pretty useless in my opinion, like heal, as you'll need mana for more offense. I also chose herbalism and poison as my skills; poison isnt really useful as you cant coat your staff with poison but the ice/fire bombs are alright.
I tried mage like three times. Apperantly you have to micro-manage like a motherfucker.
The farthest I got was when I dumped all of my stats into spellpower and just went along nuking the fuck out of everything. (100 spellpower +50% increased fire damage, with my party always having about 40% fire resistance)
I got pissed when I decided to make my golem friend an army of golem friends and he decided he wanted to kill me.

haha yea that guy is kinda pissy, but he has quite a few good lines and moments. I loved right after you get him and go to leave the village.

Oh yeah, and then I tried to have that drunk faggot turned into a golem and the chick was like "LOLNOPE" and the drunk was like "U ASS BYE" so I was down to two party members (I let the first town you are supposed to go to get destroyed before I got the Priestess and the Quinari)
God I suck at this game. At least I get an army of warewolfs because I decided that the elf leader was a dick for not letting me into his box.

Haha, you know the other way he dies too and you can get his worthless box afterwards. Something I have noticed though, Is I sell practically every armor/weapon the game gives me as loot... Seriously I've not found anything better than the Juggernaut set for Alistair and my main mage is an Arcane Warrior and sporting a mix of Blood armor and other stuff. They sure dont like to give me constant armor upgrades.

yeah, I have the blood dragon on Altair and the Juggernaut on myself.
I have a set of dragon bone heavy dwarf for if I find another warrior.
