People need to be insulted? Need eh? I doubt that. You insult people thinking it'll help. It wont. Hell, come on to the Valve #1 server and see what happens. You'll find that people will help you less and less the more condescending and childish you act. The only benefit to throwing insults is to piss people off, should of noticed that by now. This whole thread is basically due to the fact that you piss people off.


If you find people too "bad" for your own good then go to another server, or find a few players you like and work with them to play a cooperative game while everyone else mucks about. Play another game instead. There is no need to insult people and then expect them to do what you say.

How your able to turn this into an issue of political correctiveness (made up word but it'll do) is beyond me. It has little to do with the issue at hand.

EE, you need to take it easy and realize that this is just a video game. There have been countless times I wanted to yell at someone on my team for being idiots, so I do understand how you feel. If you feel the need to vent, then that is a clear sign you need to: a. take a deep breath, b. find a different server, or c. find something else to do. Hurling insults at your teammates only exacerbates the situation, consequently ruining the fun for everyone. From my pubbing experience, Sourceop servers generally have the most pubbers who have a firm concept of the game. So, if the pubbers in Sourceop don't cut it for you, you may want to find a team, or a pug group.

EE, the bottom line is that you need to respect that there are players of all different skill levels and you cannot punish a player for being "bad" at the game. If you want top quality players, join a league and play some competitive matches.

Respect is earned, not given freely. I have no issues with the new players, I am always down to help them. My problem is with the people who have been on the server for a while now who are still making the same stupid mistakes over and over like a freaking retard. When you have the same person doing the same stupid shit then yes, they need to be punished for being BAD at the game. How many times does your sentry have to be destroyed on the battlements with the entire team telling you, "NOT TO EFFING BUILD THERE! " before your dumb ass will listen? 5? 10? 20? Will you keep trying for 30 minutes? Seriously.. respect for those people... nope, I have none to show them.

You have to expect some sort of quality out of the players. Its not like we are dealing with Console kiddies here, these people can at least operate a PC, they should be playing at a level above that of a gibbon, which is a monkey for those who dont know what a gibbon is. If you dont know what a monkey is, well.. buy a XBox or PS3, more your style.

When asking nice doesnt work, you have to do something else. Insulting gets things done some times. Just like letting the enemy know the weaknesses of your base gets things done as well. I dont know how many times I have said, Hey, we need a sentry in the hay room, not our grate room and nothing happens but as soon as I tell the enemy about the opening, dumbass engineer moves his shit there.

There are a number of good players on the sever, the problem is the constant stacking of teams which again, is one of the biggest issues with the game. It was really freaking bad last night with stacking. It was also bad when the stacked team was holding the intel to continue raping the other team because the other team was freaking horrible. The dumbasses, with 4 engineers, could not even set up 1 sentry with their combined forces.. well, partially because 2 were AFK and the other two were morons.

I know its a game, its a game that requires the combination of skills of multiple players. Its a game that has a purpose and that purpose is to get the intel while defending yours. If you log into the game, I would assume, naturally, that is what you are wanting to do as well. Why would you do anything different? You dont install and load up a flight sim game to drive race cars do you?

Again, dont act like a dumbass and I wont call you on it. Its not that hard to understand is it? When you are being a complete moron, not doing what you need to do to defend the base, you are ruining the fun for those who are trying to play the game and win. Why are you there if you are not there to help? Log off, let someone else on who wants to help. It being 2 fort means shit, its a map, play it and go for the objective. It being a public server means shit, there is no reason why, on a public server, that there cant be team work. All I hear are excuses as to why specific players suck.

Admin, try 45 or 60 minute rounds on the sever, get rid of the 3 hour BS and lets see if that changes anything.

I sort of understand your frustration. People shouldn't be retarded. Unfortunately, you can't change that. One problem with 2fort is that it attracts a lot of idiots. If you play 2fort your entire life, you'll probably still be pretty bad, or at least a lot worse than if you played all the maps your whole life. 2fort also attracts the goofing off/relaxing crowd, since turtling is so easy and people can do what they want. Sometimes I go on 2fort just to be a battlements suicide bottling demo or a punch heavy in the sewers.

Yes-people should be doing the objective, but there's no law that says they have to. 2fort especially is suited to ignoring the objective. IT'S A SHITTY MAP. My advice is to:
Play on some of the other sourceop servers (eg valve maps 1 or 2) - the quality of play is waaaaaaaaaaay higher.
Do some scrims and shit if you're supersrs

Bitching at idiots and griefing your own team is doing nothing, as I'm sure you have realized at this point.

If half the losing team isn't snipers it won't be as easy for the non-retard team to steamroll them. Also the losing team will learn the value of coming out of the confines and safety of their base - and even if that means falling off the battlements with a backburner and hoping for the best, it is still a start -unlike losing the game as a sniper and wasting a slot.

Restricting the number of snipers is one of the things I mentioned. Tie that in with limiting the time on the server to something far more reasonable, like 45 or 60 minutes would do a lot to solve the problem as well.

This morning we had a map that had, I shit you not, over 400 minutes of play time when I logged in. When I left, we were down to 320 or so minutes. The intel had only been grabbed twice in that time because there was so much time on the clock, no one went after it. You had one team turtling it up, though they were losing 7 to 2. How is this good for the game? I seriously cant see it. We even tried getting the other team to leave the base by letting them know that they only had 6 1/2 hours left to get the intel 25 times and they needed to do it quicker than 1 time every 25 minutes.

Anyone else see the problem here? I think that maybe the admins of the server need to spend a little time on it and see just how bad everything is right now.

Seriously, I'm convinced your problem is entirely because you're playing on 2fort. Rather than be an obdurate mule and insist that 2fort players get good, play on maps where players are good.
