Upgrading RAM is the simplest thing to do, and I wouldn't recommend you do it when buying it as they will make you pay through the damn teeth for it. All you have to do is buy the right card and slot it in, its that simple, and don't get them to fit it in a shop either, its another way to spend money for nothing. Take a few minutes out to check you have the right component, order it from EBay for example and take the back off you lappy and slot it in. Elementary my dear Watson!

Okay, you do not need 16gb's of ram. Anything over 8gb's is complete overkill, unless, you do video editing or heavy photoshop.
Getting a part right when it comes out is the worst idea imaginable for anyone who doesn't have money coming out of their ears.
Also, the laptop you linked is good. I suggest getting a cooling pad and making sure the laptop has good ventilation. Biggest problem with gaming laptops is they get VERY hot if they do not have good fans.

Embarassing as it is, I have hyperhidrosis and have 2 desk fans for my desktop. could i sit those around my laptop for my hands and to cool the laptop? I wouldnt be gaming away from home so i imagine that it wouldnt overheat?

This, really just upgrade your RAM yourself its really easy man. Laptops are very very easy to take apart, just undo the screws and slot the RAM in

Laptops unfortunately always overheat, its the one massive drawback to getting one, but there are ways around it

If you aren't going to take it away from home you are probably better off just getting a desktop. You will likely be fine for awhile though. I suggest you download heat monitoring tools such as evga precision and a cpu clock to keep an eye on temperatures. If Temperatures ever reach a dangerous area, you might be best off turning it off and letting it cool down for awhile.(80c, I would keep an eye on it. 90c and above I would probably consider stopping my current task. It all depends on how old the parts are.)

Also, fans around your hands aren't likely to cool the laptop much, but it can't hurt any. As far as I have been told your best option is to use a cooling pad.

QFT really 16gb ram that's just crazy and waste of money. I would invest more on the graphics card side for best performance. Also try to look out for laptops with good vent holes too.
