tbh, i havent played Runescape, so I cant comment on the community. I've been to 2-3 smaller trading communities (biggest one @ ~12000 active members, about 800 involved in trading), it was pretty much an enjoyable experience, because currency/items were actually sold for an appropriate price and if someone sold for too high or offered too few you just didnt buy from him, instead of insulting him.
It didnt have something as indepth as unusal hats with effect-tier and hat-tier though.
