I won your backpack.
#1

Won highest cash offers on two backpacks now.

First one contacted me saying the auction was going to end soon, and that I could get it immediately for a few bucks more. I passed, and they let the thread die and never sold to me.

Second one did the same thing. However, after letting the thread die approached me again with a lower buyout offer which I ignored.

--

Might have it happen a third time; I've had the highest bid on a bag for a few days now in which the thread continues to get bumped repeatedly with no further bites.

Wish there was a rule about stating reserves and/or predicted sale end times. Sad

Why did you reject the guy who came back to you with a lower B/O. But i do understand your anger especially since this happens commonly with bids on even smaller items around TF2

Yeah people are retards. I won an auction and the seller was happy he was getting 100$ on his 115$ buyout. When I gathered money and contacted him shortly he said he cant sell that cheap coz his friends said so. Real assholes sometimes.

The lower buyout was still $20 higher than my "winning" bid.

I wouldn't say I'm necessarily angry. It's a risk you take on any auction, really. You put trust in the seller that they will close the sale and deliver. The only really sucky part is that each auction I put money down on, I spend a lot of time and effort to keep up with it to stay competitive; just time lost.

This happens a lot. I've got it going on right now actually. The guy quoted my bid said it was getting closer to his B/O so he would consider it. Now he has been bumping thread sporadically over the past week with no other offers and no indication of how long he is going to wait.

I've also had people ask for more money after accepting an offer too. If that is the case they shouldn't accept the offer in the first place.

If it happens for longer then a couple/few days i will ask them if they are going to accept my offer, if they say no i retract it or hide/delete my post.

Another stupid idea is these auctions that seem to drag on forever but they have a buyout up that they are selling it at anyway.
Auctions should have a ending date and if they need a reserve state that as soon as the thread goes up.

Would be nice if sourceop banned auctions on there site.

Yeah, if an auction needs a reserve why not make that the starting bid. I can't figure out why people are to stupid to figure this one out.

because they want people to bid so they get attention

On my end, I had my backpack for sale on here and well I got a bunch of offers I thought were crap. SO I didn't even bother getting back to it. I rather keep it as I'm not hard up for money. Plus just would get a whole lot more if I sold myself.

Why no response? I figure if someone really is interested they'd add me. Or find my tf2outpost or private message me on here. Lots of the bp buyers I feel just lowball it. So when underwhelmed, why bother?
