I need a help with L4D2, the game stutters with flashlight. Normally, I got perfect framerate no matter what, but when I use the flashlight or watch the fire, the game starts to stutter and goes even to 10 or 15 fps, which is a pain in the ***.
My computer is Core 2 Quad Q9300, 4 GB RAM DDR2, GF 9600 GT.
I use WinXP 32
I run the game on 1440x900 (my resolution)
Everything maxed out, except AA (4x).
Triple buffered,
Multicore ON, but changing it to OFF doesnt solve the flashlight problem.
Any tips?

1440x900? Really?

The stock is answer is take two video driver updates with water and call me in the morning.

Maybe there is a dynamic lighting/shadow option you can tweak?

lower "effects" to low.

This sounds more symptomatic of a driver bug than an inability to handle high effects settings, however.

Found this but it may not help.

It suggests that you disable multicore and vsync, and possibly updating your video drivers.
