I might as well flush my fucking money away.

My friend forced me to unbox a few crates on my b-day. So i tried "the best crate" (got 1 ref paint) i tried my favorite number, my lucky number etc. threw away about 10 bucks and got like 3 ref... i'm done with crates.

Opening crates is like playing the lottery, you know the odds are horrible (almost non-existent) and you do it only for the occasional excitement.
Would you buy a hundred lottery tickets? No, because you know that you most likely won't win anyway.
Crates are exactly the same concept, scaled down. That's why I have never and will never open one because it's such an obvious waste of money.
For every lucky person that ends up with a knife or whatever equivalent in TF2, two hundred people have wasted keys on crap. Just like in real life, just because someone inevitably wins the lottery, doesn't mean that you have a chance even if you keep trying all your life.
You know supply and demand and there's a reason crates cost a few cents while the keys cost several $/€. Because the crates are essentially worthless and the values of skins are balanced out thanks to the stable value on keys.
Go sell your keys. Or trade them. Or bet them on games, or sell or trade them and bet the real money somewhere. Anything else than actually opening stuff with them. The odds are much much greater that way. Otherwise you really are flushing your money away.
