Heroes of Newerth is a DotA style PVP based multiplayer game. It is faced paced and has a very tough learning curve. Once you get over the hump however it is one of the most rewarding and addictive games out there. To me it reminds me of a game of chess played out with 5 people on each team. It is fast paced and no two games are alike.

If anyone decides they wanna give it a shot and wants to pick it up. I will help as much as I can with you learning the game and the items, although I will say the best way to learn is just play more games. The more you face enemy heroes and items, the more you understand what everyone and everything does. Smile

Well.
#1 - It's $10
#2 - DotA 2 is being made by valve, and we have yet to see anything other than a few character renders, so we have no idea how the game will turn out.
#3 - DotA 2 is being made by valve, it may NOT be right around the corner ^_^
#4 - OG DotA has no system to deal with griefers, trollers or leavers, HoN has systems in place to deal with all of these.
#5 - If you are new getting a head start at understanding the game style and how everything works will make you more successful at DotA 2 when it releases.
#6 - If you end up not liking the game, you have only spend $10 versus the $50 that DotA 2 is likely to cost
#7 - It's fun, and if you enjoy the game then its worth the money you will spend on it. I have no idea why anyone buys countless remakes or clones of old style RPG games, but some people do. I don't know why countless people buy a new COD or sports game every year, but they do. And if they enjoy it, then they are doing it right.

I am by no means trying to force this down anyone's throat, but if you have ever thought about playing this game, or even think you might enjoy it, then now is the perfect time to buy it!

I find this funny since HoN is beyond newb unfriendly. And dota isn't very newb friendly either but it doesn't cost me 10/20 bucks.

Actually to legally play dota, it should cost somewhere around 20-30 considering thats what the wc3 chest is sitting around.

And its not just hon/dota that is newb unfriendly, its the genre of game. LoL is just as noob unfriendly, and you can expect dota2 to be as well....but with hats!

No, LoL is far more newb friendly for several reasons.
1. The leveling system.
2. The game is far more colorful making it much easier to distinguish A. Allies and B. Champions.
3. LoL is completely free.
4. LoL overall has a better UI.
