[Half-Duplex]

So I'd like to know why I got gagged on the microphone tonight? I'm still a little unclear on that. I'm clear on why I was gagged earlier in the day, but what happened at night was just ridiculous.

Evidently Kaylee and I are in two separate ends of the spectrum when it comes to this. She feels is necessary to gag me in game because I go over board on the microphone by making fun of people, and calling people names, and swearing.

When many can probably agree with her, That yes, I do go overboard and yes, I can be annoying. There are also many that don't mind, or rather are completely ok with me trying to coach the team to victory.

What I find odd is how she warned me for the exact same thing twice (once earlier in the day which I'm willing to admit to and one later in the evening) yet the scenarios were completely different. I wasn't calling anyone names when I came in later that night. Check the logs

But lets be clear on what I'm doing when you hear me over the mic:

I'm just trying to win. Its a lot better to have people working together, than having people just run around aimlessly. I mean at least try to play the game right...right?

When I'm speaking on the mic, I'm talking to those who are willing to listen, and can make sense of what I'm saying. Where as to some it may sound like endless bickering, to another it may sound like a sure-fire plan to capture the next point.

My questions are:

1. Where is the line drawn between talking strategy, and mic spamming?

2. Why can't you just mute? - Many, many players find that the best solution.

3. And why did Ralconn get gagged for simply defending me?

He is probably my right hand guy when it comes to playing. So by gagging me because YOU don't want to hear me, you then rob others who rather listen to what I have to say, and there are others...

I really don't have problems following the rules. Kaylee gave me a fair warning in-game in chat, but the reason she had gagged me after that were a tad bit out of line. It was a CLEAR example of how UNCLEAR one can see the difference between mic spamming, or talking strategy over the mic.

And if I can just get that defined and set in stone where both Kaylee and I can understand it clearly, I can assure you this problem won't happen again.

I was there throughout this all and Duplex really wasn't talking shit so I see no reason as to why he was banned.
He merely said something along the lines of "How come we don't have A?" in voice chat which got him a gag and pretty much started this entire process. I fail to see how this is in any way disruptive to the game like Kaylee said it was.

From what I have seen and heard Duplex genuinely tries to lead the team to victory by providing strategy through the mic. Sure he might not say please and thank you but I don't think he really ever gets out of line unless somebody personally attacks him.

I don't in any way make the claim that me and Duplex are saints however but we are certainly willing to follow guidelines if they are given to us. I just feel the treatment we received was unfair.

I would love to see Kalyee's side of this. She gets these kinds of complaints a lot (at least from what I can remember) and never properly defends herself.

As soon as you become irritating or start annoying people, it's no longer OK. I tell admins to just use their best judgement. I'm sure Kaylee used hers appropriately.

These types of annoyances tend to discourage people from playing and are not conducive to the fun atmosphere I like to maintain on the servers.

I gagged Ralconn because the whole drama in chat was disrupting the entire server and caused many people to complain in chat and an additional 4 to PM me in steam friends about it instead of play the game. I told Ralconn and you that the issue was over and you can post on the forums if you want, and if you continue to stir drama over it in chat you'll be gagged. You continued. You got gagged. You both made that choice.

I heard you cursing and insulting people over the mic that night after I warned you (and this was after a warning and a gag earlier in the day). Kia has my back on this, he wanted to gag you both too. (Just to be clear, I gagged him for the cursing/insulting then he rejoined to complain about it in chat before I gagged him for the third time.)

Well, naturally, I got gagged in this episode as well.. for pointing out Kaylee's completely arbitrary application of what she thinks is "disruptive".

She can play the game and spam emo non-stop for ages.. all good.

Somebody else goes on and on.. not good.

Criticize her.. not good.

I realize this doesn't mean anything, and I've made this point before.. but for the most part, people play the game.. goof around a bit.. or whatever. What is often missed is that Kaylee's extreme narcissim is the whirl wind that constantly disrupts the natural order of the game. She is the root of the discruption, where other people might resolve the rare disruptive player issues in a much less ham handed way.

With Kaylee.. the problem is always with somebody else. It's never her. She's constantly the victim, and seems to have a extremes of emotions that causes her to be fine at times.. and completely derranged in others.

And what ends up happening is that if there is some small issue with somebody, it blows up into huge disruptions because of her completely inane way of dealing with people.

In the end.. it's just the environment that the server owners wish to have on their servers. I've been playing TF for ages, joining Clan Erinyes in 1996.. through our 10 month #1 world ranking in TFC.. and I've never seen anything like this before. We would never allow the emo/narcissitc spam, much less encourage it. They'd get banned. There's a huge difference between banter, friendly insults, occasional flames, and the constant stream of "i love you so much".. "oh my god look my score" spam that Kaylee is famous for.

This is why I have such a problem with Kaylee. I mostly ignore her now, but when I see her go after somebody else in her typical nutty manner, it's hard not to point out the obvious.

Micas, you and Tips have been on thin ice for ages. It was no surprise you two would jump on the bandwagon when Duplex started his thing. I try to keep a fair and open mind towards you two as best I can but honestly I don't know if your complaints or word mean much anymore considering your history around here.

I do appreciate that you've been less disruptive than you used to be though Micas, even if Tips hasn't changed much.

Micas, you constantly harass Kaylee. I have no sympathy for you. I would much rather prefer anyone say stuff like "omg I love nummy sooo much" and "wow look at my score" than negative or hurtful things. Kaylee is only trying to start friendly conversation.
