I was on the 24/7 Instant Respawn Source OP server. I noticed a person building and destroying many SG's to get his points up. This should be disabled or changed somehow. It's not fair to the regular people who play.

... you don't actualy get that many ponits for building, infact you usualy get more points for killing, i would say he was just an idiot, and in the end just trying to get your rank up on hlstats is USELESS

I agree, this guy was just wasting his time. I thought that HLStatsX had already implemented something to prevent this kind of exploitation.

Ya, you're right. He has a 16,320 point bonus for building sentries and 13,875 for building dispensers. Also, this kind of crap shows up in his log.

I tried it. You can do it about 10 times and get points.
What are you going to end up doing?

Perhaps I'll code something that notifies HLStatsX when a player detonates their own object. With HLStatsX I can make a trigger to look for that event and then subtract points for it.

As for his current score?
Will it remain up there?
Or remove all the consecutive Build/Destroy points in the log.

As for now, his points will stay. He is removed from the ranking so it won't affect anyone else. I have no way of removing or adding points to an individual player since the database is hosted by HLStatsX Premium. I contacted their support staff to see if they can do the reset manually.

The point system should be ignored. I know some great players that are still under 10,000 points. Its very biased by class. I think it should be a vote system. At the end of a game people should vote for an mvp and that should accredit points and nothing else. Being a good teammate is what counts, not ammassing stupid meaningless points.
