When I first started playing TF2 the damage modifier for range didn't quite compute in my head. Since I'm blessed with twitch reflex and accurate hitscan, I couldn't understand how I was getting owned so hard with every class.
Once I fell for a sticky trap, I switched to demo and began spamming until the ammo ran out. It was like a basic understanding of the core concepts of this game, an ah-ha moment that is rare in one's video game career.
Soon I was living long enough to recieve ubers, and incedentally causing enough damage to suffer them. I've been pro at Steamroll Fortress ever since.
P.S. Anyone who thinks they are 'good' at demoknight is just a well equipped lotto.

Yeah, demo is fairly easy. You just have to sort of know where the enemy is going to be and shoot there. Easy for predictable people, hard for things that make them un-predictable (Such as a scoot's double jump)

Demo is still harder than Soldier imo. You can't just shoot a rocket at someones feet. Aiming nades is harder than aiming rockets. You need to predict where the enemy will be a place a sticky there and detonate it in the right time.
