Alot of people buy items to resell them which is very simple profit. It's actually much faster than in game profit seeing as how if you resell something for only $5 more you've just made ~4-5 refined which would be amazing for an item trader.

Wow, this is just retarded. We buy the hats for the plain and simple fact that valve doesn't offer tradable ones elsewhere. If I could go buy five pairs of earbuds from the valve store, fuck yeah, I'd do that. They would be completely worthless, but hey, earbuds man. This is a market for people to sell their hard earned valuables for some cash that can be put into OTHER THINGS, such as you know, stuff from valve maybe? Like keys? Or games? Did you ever think of that?
