Hello everyone. I am using the Role Play mod and when I entered the server for the first time today I was falling off the map because I do not have the correct spawn points. If you know the correct spawn points please post them. (That is not my question) (This is my question ---->) Today I went in my server for the first time after installing sourceop and I did the admintut and it went though and put myself as main admin (also its a hosted server on Game Servers) and I thought everything was fine and went though. But when I got the remote admin I put in my ip and port 2035 with user name and password tried to connect and it said Connection is forcefully rejected sourceop When I went to the servers rcon and typed in Plugin_print all it said was ===================
=================== so that tells me that the server did not take sourceop but I installed all files and folders correctly to the servers FTP I am also using lynx (hopes that makes you remember me lol) linux and I have all the proper installs for that as well. Thank you for all the time spent on this matter.

If you did the admin tutorial, then obviously SourceOP is running. Change it to port 2153 instead of port 2035. Also, you have to set up remote admin users separately. See here:

Okay, I did everything it told me to do. But I am unsure what user name and password to enter. I am assuming that the user name is the in game name not the steam name. And the password is my password I use to log into steam.

No, your user name is the name of the text file you create in the users directory. The password is the first line inside that file.
Quote:For example, creating a text file called "Drunken F00l" (leave the .txt extension if you see one) will allow an admin using the user name Drunken F00l to connect.
Quote:On the first line, type the password for the admin.

I did that. I named the file my steam name not my ingame name. (that name changes a lot lol) and I am using the port 2153 and the password I press connect and it says you have entered an invalid username or id. To see if I typed it wrong I copy and pasted from the file it self and it still gave me the same error.

When I use port 2153 it gives me the login error. When I use port 2035 I get this error. I should be using 2153 and yes the port is open in my router. I hope this helps in the problem solving area.
Attempting connection to 208.167.225.134.
Connection error.
10061:
Connection is forcefully rejected
Closing connection.
Lost connection, attempting to reconnect..

The invalid username or password error means you set up the permissions thing. Your login is different than your steam login and is determined by those text files explained on the wiki page.
When you use port 2035, you get connection rejected because (as expected) there is nothing listening on that port.

Okay so what you are telling me to do is in the files make a username and password that is diffrent then the one used for Steam. Example username: Admin password: 1234 and I should be using port 2153?

Yes. The process of making a username is creating that text file in the correct spot. Your password is the first line in that file. The rest of the instructions are on that wiki page.
