Fry's is good, but there's not one around here. Newegg is always good. I'd probably only choose Fry's over Newegg if I needed something immediately or didn't want to wait for shipping.

That's why I loved Fry's because of the convenience. If I didn't want to wait for something to ship (like an older game that I know they'd have in stock) I'd just go to Fry's.

yeah but the price difference is usually the price of overnight shipping anyway...

I'd have to disagree/agree with this When I would go there would be incredible sales on some items (like 50 CDRW's for $5). Of course I haven't been there in about 4 years.

While some of the stuff was amazingly cheap, other stuff was stupidly overpriced. I found most of their MB's and mem sticks were more expensive then online. Also their "service" department was a big rip too.

Anyway, point is that it's a good spot if you don't feel like waiting, and great for all those "little" things you don't want to have to try to find elsewhere.

i would ONLY buy my DVDs online, that way I can make sure I didn't get one of those LOL 4/10 OF UR DVDS ARE DUDS batches.

They use to be able to compete with Best Buy. CC had more specialized items than BB but they had to jack their prices up on everything else to make a profit. Once Target and Walmart got into the picture, no one wanted to pay the high prices anymore. I went to CC when they were closing and encountered several people yelling at the management. Turns out that some of the games weren't playing, some cases didn't even HAVE anything in them!

None of it matters. My happiness died the day CompUSA died. Theres no longer any real computer stores to get hardware from. Hole in the wall retailers are crazy expensive and pretty dingy
