I had a guy try that on me once, only that he said its his b'day and nobody gave him anything instead of him being scammed
Another more fun variation is saying that X was nice to you, helped you when you were down etc etc and that you want nothing for yourself but something for X
X is obviously your dupe acc or a friend

My bday was on the 18th of april, noone gave me anything and I really didn't care about it, because I was more happy for the fact that people IRL remembered.
