1st Post, but got to support the drunk, angry, bartender that is Cakeface. I've been playing SourceoOp since tf2 came out how many years ago? Lol anyways while his antics may not make him a good diplomat or lawyer, it is however amusing for the tough skinned group that usually comprises SourceOp, and more personally my tf2 home the "247 2fort no mods no bs server" and all it's long time regulars that have made it a particularly warm and fun success that it is.
Cake, hrmm...Careface is like the little bitch dog that barks all night and you really want to kick it so you can get some sleep. But when you finally get up and are about to launch that mutt over the moon with your mantreads, it looks at you with those big sweet puppy eyes and you just can't do it. But then that little bitch strikes at you like a damn ninja and you realize you have fresh pee on your boots. Of course it's too late and the dog has already gone before you can find it.
Yeah, the point is, it's a real love/hate relationship but I sense he's a good guy where it counts and more importantly, this is a game of battle. Battle of witts, skill, psychological warfare, ect. While racism and other bigotry shouldn't be tolerated of course, he's pretty good about staying clear of the actual (and seriously intentioned) no-no's.
In closing, I agree that when speaking to a mod, respect and tactfulness are usually the best approach, but in this instance it is entertaining how he managed to stay true to his brash nature which I respect. As for the admin who created the ban, it is understandable that his intentions were to "clear the air in the server" so to speak, but it must also be mentioned that in doing so, the quality and thus the genuine nature of the server might be changed, and also lost if this were the eventual and continued course of action.
Peace,
Kai 2
