Auto Team-Balancing for Your Own Benefit
#1

Valve 1# maps server has been dealing with this a lot recently...so....I thought I'd provide this as both a warning and future reference for why you get KICKED and quite possibly BANNED for it.

Do not do it. Simple as that. While it may seem unfair that you suddenly get switched to the losing team or one that your friends are not on....cope. Its unfair for everyone else who is suddenly auto-balanced by you moving to spec, just to get back onto your previous team. It happens to us all, so just take that into consideration next time you debate it.

If I catch you doing it. I will first KICK you. No warning. If I find you doing it over and over again I'm just going to BAN you. You can complain to DF (sorry mate) and hope he'll remove the ban. If I kick you but don't kick someone else who just did it, its not favoritism, its because I'm trying to play the game myself and don't want to spend my whole time staring at the chat log.

Does it just auto-balance the next person to die after the server determines that teams are unbalanced or does it try to distribute players based on other criteria? (like how the lowest kpd gets booted for reserve slots or something?)

It balances dead players, but tries to balance those who have joined the team recently I think. I'm not sure on the specifics.

THANKS KIA!

Ive tried votekicking for horrific balance avoidance before and it just doesn't work. (Guy got balanced at least 3 times in 30 min and avoided it every time)

About auto balancing:
as far as I know when it initiates balancing it usually chooses the first person who died after the initiation. However, it does seem to avoid most of the time transferring those near the top of the scoreboard. This may be due to the fact that these people usually die less, or it could be part of the equation used to decide who is being auto balanced.

Autobalance mostly targets those are not in top 5 and generally matching the mid term points of the team thats getting the balancer what I've noticed so far.

Just gona say; As anoying as it is, server 1 has pretty much always had this stacking issue going around since forever, specialy during the late night, but I don't think nothing drastic will happen from going kick and ban happy over it, considering the sheer amount regulars doing it.
Probably the best way to solve this would be to add the same as server #2 and disable spectator all together but I'm not sure if it will solve it completely either.
