Wow a tl;dr thread and my post isn't one of them. I'll keep it simple. Though the map may suck, you don't get to boot it from the rotation because every other sourceOP server has to bare through the shithouse maps that stay on the server, regardless of how many times they're skipped.
GL with the tournament, I wanted to get one crackin about 5 months ago. Just organize it yourself if you want to do it. Unless there would be a ton done to reduce short term variance (crits off, A LOT of matches played) luck would certainly be a hefty factor.

All right, after getting a feel for the atmosphere around here, I understand that watchtower probably won't be removed. However, a map vote will eliminate all our problems, so i'll already be satisifed with that.

You should come play early morning arena with me... I've yet to meet a sniper that can lock down watchtower. (keyword yet, I'm sure it's coming)
Hell, just this morning I was doing my pipe jump to flank (the medic who didn't learn the first four times) behind the other team in plain view of what I would consider a decent sniper and never once came close to being tagged. Now it may have been him scoped in somewhere else but you'd think someone would say, "Hey! Someone get that scout who keeps raping our medic."
I don't think it's the snipers ruining the map, I think it all stems from a lack of communication. Engineers, yes, they are just about useless on watchtower unless you have heavy suppressing fire on the mid point so he can build. Heavies become sitting ducks with a decent sniper. Snipers are sitting ducks if they stick around spawn for more than 30 seconds because here comes the sneaky scout. Most scouts are countered by the soldier/pyro that may be hanging back... etc etc
I think the only bad thing about watchtower is the 3 rounds before team scramble. I find it takes about that long for a team to get its head out of its ass and switch up the classes to adapt. Maybe 4 rounds before scramble and you should see a drastic change in class selection.
