Admins not acting on harassment
#1

Harassment is against the rules, as is "being an obnoxious jerk". Yossef refused to clarify any rules in game and said to post here, so I am.

Why are players calling other players "libtard" and other clearly harassing type things WHILE admins are playing alongside them, with no warnings being given? I guess the server doesn't care about mild harassment, is this true?

As a side thought, if you are going to warn/ban players for vote scrambling and vote extending the map; just do yourself and your whole player base a favor and remove the vote options altogether.

You guys need more admins that are interested in admining instead of just playing - we have a lot of hackers, racism, and harassment on the server and admins seem to rather play than spectate or address anything (besides people voting on one of the two options you guys allow votes on).

Did Yossef harass you or what clarity are you asking for?

Thanks.

No, people are calling eachother things like libtard and Yos is doing nothing about as it is happening before his eyes. Are slurs not harassment?

Depends on context, furthermore, any threats like you did on the server again and you will be permanently banned.

PS you will never be warned about this again.

Thanks.

And PS - I'm doing YOU a favor suggesting that you remove vote options that you are warning/banning people over - it happens all the time when admins on. Why not just remove them? I mean you can gag and warn and ban people all you want, but if you want to actually solve the problem, just remove it at the root. Teams were clearly stacked when I was warned not to scramble... if it cannot be used in that situation, why not remove it?

I have no control over the plugin or voting or anything like that, the admins use the existing tools at our disposal.

Thanks.

Also it would be very helpful if the admins would take the time to explain the rules to people in the game instead of just saying look them up - all I'm saying is a lot of people do not follow the posted rules and little is ever done about it, if the server population was more advised of them when it comes up it would probably get better. Most people don't go to the site, don't visit the forum, and then break the rules freely when the admins aren't on.

You have contact with the person(s) who do have this control, right?

It's not a difficult change and with how it is currently, you're kind of entrapping people, and people do it ALL the time when admins aren't on. (extending)

And please clarify: Slurs, harassment or not?

I can make sure yossef can link the rules to people who legitimately ask and want to know, but I dont expect him to do so for users who know better or are just dramallamaing, as you, yourself, did before you broke multiple rules this evening and threatened the server.

We reach out to the owners when needed including but not limited to admin abuse, broken servers and general guidance. As with other threads in this section can attest to, we pass on issues to the right people, but beyond that, we have zero control over what happens after that.

Swearing/trashtalking is not banned in of itself, as already said, context matters and we are not otherwise babysitters and beyond a complaint from a victim, usually do not quash speech barring it breaking other server rules. We expect users to use good judgement themselves, hopefully most of you are adults. If, for example, "niqqa" is used that user would be gagged and warned. If insults are directed at a user and they complain or we reasonably think it hits harassment/griefing/jerk levels we will take further action from then on.

Thanks.

tl;dr for this thread:
If an admin you know is in the game, report/request them to take action on something you saw. If you get no response, use contact admin in chat to report the issue to the rest of the admins. Record a demo and post it on the forums if you don't get a response from there, including any appropriate steam ID's for those involved.
We'll review this internally, thanks for the response, gg.

Secondary response: Ignoring admins, talking back to admins, threatening alts/hacking/ban avoidance, etc is all explicitly forbidden by the rules, though 'dont be a jerk' covers it. So be nice and see my above post for any further questions on how to handle this in the future.
