I know how it pretty much works and all but i wanted to clear up some questions on my mind about it and wondering if someone can explain.
First of all, i have donated so i do have a reserved slot. Now does this mean it will never go away and i can use it whenever? Also, when i try to open up console and try to connect alot of the time i get "server is full" does that mean the limit has been reached for reserved slots used at the time? Cause i was hoping now having a reserved slot i wouldn't have to wait around forever to wait for someone to leave through regular "auto-join" but this way it still seems i have to wait a while either way.

Currently, reserved slots are permanent. I have been thinking about switching to a monthly system, but I am uncertain.
If you connect via console and get "Server is full," that means that the server doesn't recognize that you have a reserved slot. I have investigated a little more and it's because your donation of three dollars does not meet the minimum for a reserved slot.

i think the monthly idea is a good one, i'm sure your revenues will sky rocket, but i would limit the number of reserver slots sold each month so that you don't have the problem of people not getting into a game because there are not enough slots
personally i think $10 for a life time reserver slot to you is cheating you
you could potentially make a dual system, 10 for a month and 100 for a year? that way if the pay 100 right off the bat they save in the long run?

I know valve maps server has a crazy high demand for reserved slots, but as long as df is not having trouble getting enough donations to support his servers (and he hasn't the last 2 or 3 months) I don't think any price increase or monthly change is justifiable.

The only reason I would change to monthly is because too many people have slots.

Okay, i have heard you, kaylee, complain about there not being enough reserve slots, this would lower the number of people buying, while increasing DF's intake
and hell-met, the $100 dollar was to be intend of $120 that it would cost to by a 10 slot every month, seriously, its business
in 5 years DF could rack in $500 bucks from one guy instead of $100 in 100
I'm talking business, and business is getting the most money you can
ask your self, what are people willing to pay for a reserve slot, not what the would like, hell if you had your way you would have a slot be a dollar for a life-time
see i don't pay for a reserver slot for 2 reasons, 1, i can barely pay for food each month, 2, i don't really need it, its only like a 15-30 min wait
and as someone not involved in this, i think i have the most clear view

Um how about slots that wear off after 3 months of no donations??

I'm just saying the donation speech kind of implies it's not-for-profit, that's all

like rent control on a apt, don't pay for 3 months and you get the boot?
its creative, but i don't really think that would work, people would keep paying minimum at the last minute
