it does, but I have seen people turn it off to try and sound cool. "I MANAGE MY OWN SYSTEM, I WILL DECIDE WHEN IT IS OVERHEATING!!!"
my usual response is "Yeah, until somebody bumps your computer when you aren't there and a cord falls into the processor fan." they still don't listen though...
