    Chromebooks.

I guess in a bold attempt to make computers more like phones, google thought they could get there faster by making computers more like phones.

Why they couldn't just make an android netbook is beyond me, but as a positive they sound like they will be great replacements for those shitty laptops we all used in high school. Quick boot up, Google Docs that can sync to the home PC, no chance of THAT ONE KID with a flash drive playing Crimsonland for the entire class period every day, and I don't think people are going to bother producing viruses for Unix because they never have before.

    Any thoughts on this?

my high school was macs, macs everywhere. I guess the chromebook would make a nice replacement in a school setting, but I can't see myself owning one for anything else.

Kids computers, a cheap backup web client (if they go down in price), things like that.

As it stands now you can get a netbook with the same price for less money, so most of its advantages are null when compared to a linux-clad EEE.
