Exactly like what I'm saying, your first paragraph said less than 2 but more than one, meaning that it's in between. And when talking about people (or creatures / living beings) for that matter, you can't have a decimal. Explain to me what the number below 2 but what above than one is? It has to be a whole number for your answer, since if I recall in kindergarden, there's no whole number in between 1 and 2.
